This page explains what information Clarity Dive collects when you visit this website or work with me, how it's used, and what your rights are.
If you use the contact form, inquiry form, or client onboarding form on this site, I collect the information you enter. This typically includes your name, email address, and anything you share about your project or business.
I collect your name and email address.
Payments are processed through third-party providers (like Stripe or PayPal). I don't store your card details. Those providers handle payment security on their end, under their own privacy policies.
Like most websites, this one collects some data automatically through cookies and analytics tools. This includes things like which pages you visited, how long you spent on them, what device you're using, and your general location (country or city level). I use this to understand how people use the site so I can make it better.
This website uses the following third-party tools, which may collect data about your visit:
Google Analytics – tracks site traffic and user behavior.
Facebook/Meta Pixel – helps measure the performance of any ads I run and understand how visitors interact with the site. Meta processes this data according to their own privacy policy.
Umami – a privacy-focused analytics tool that tracks site traffic without using cookies or collecting personal data. Umami does not identify individual users and is GDPR-compliant.
Smartlook – records anonymized session data (like mouse movements, clicks, and navigation paths) to help me understand how people use the site.
Webflow – this website is built on Webflow, which hosts the site and may collect basic technical data as part of normal website hosting. Webflow is GDPR-compliant.
Mailerlite – used to manage the newsletter. Your email is stored there when you subscribe.
I use the information I collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and project requests
- Send the newsletter to subscribers
- Manage client projects and onboarding
- Understand how the website is being used so I can improve it
- Run and measure advertising campaigns
I don't sell your data. I don't share it with anyone except the third parties listed above.
If you're visiting from the EU or UK, I need to have a lawful reason for processing your data under GDPR. Here's how that breaks down:
- Consent for the newsletter. By submitting your email on the sign-up form, you're agreeing to receive emails from Clarity Dive. You can unsubscribe any time.
- Legitimate interests for analytics and understanding how the site is used.
- Contractual necessity for client onboarding and project work.
Under South Africa's POPIA, I process personal information responsibly, only for the purposes described here, and only for as long as necessary.
This site uses cookies. Some are necessary for the site to function. Others are used by analytics and tracking tools mentioned above.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how the site works.
If required by law based on your location, you'll see a cookie consent banner when you first visit.
- Inquiry form submissions: I keep these for as long as they're relevant to a potential or active project.
- Client records: retained for up to 5 years for business and legal record-keeping purposes.
- Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to remove you.
- Analytics data: retained according to the settings in each tool (Google Analytics default is 14 months).
Depending on where you're located, you have rights around your personal data.
Everyone:You can ask me what information I hold about you, request corrections, or ask me to delete it. Just email me.
EU/UK visitors (GDPR): You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your data. You also have the right to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
South African residents (POPIA): You have the right to request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion, and object to the processing of your information.
To exercise any of these rights, email me at vanesse@claritydive.com. I'll respond within 30 days.
I'm based in South Africa and work with clients internationally. Some of the tools I use process data on servers in other countries, including the US and EU. Where this happens, those providers are responsible for ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place under applicable law.
This website is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. I don't knowingly collect personal data from minors.
